For next year the “Berwick” will revert to the two day format that it ran in former years but in a complete break with tradition, the rally’s start will be at the Woodhorn Colliery Museum , situated just outside Ashington in Mid-Northumberland. From there, the event’s first day will feature an anticipated 10 tests and no fewer than 100 miles of regularities before arriving in Berwick for an overnight halt.

Day Two will see the Berwick revisit some of the well known locations in East Lothian and Berwickshire that have been popular in previous years before finishing, as usual, at the sumptuous Whitekirk Country Club, surely one of the best finish venues in the country.

In it’s heyday, the Berwick Classic used to attract well over 100 entries and, while the current economic climate may make entries of that size currently unachievable, the organisers are hopeful that the new look event will prove popular and boost numbers.
